All About Cellular Shades

Our 1/2" Captiva Single Cell Translucent Shades are Island Blind's best value in the cellular shades. The 1/2 inch single cells are light filtering, blocking out the direct sunlight while always being private. We have coordinating 1/2" single cell arch top shades if you have an arch window in the same room that needs to be treated with a blind, too.

The Captiva single cell shades have such a warm and inviting fabric which is perfect for living rooms, dining rooms, dens, virtually anywhere that you need to block the harsh direct sunlight while still letting soft light fill the room. All components are color coordinated and they can be used alone or with draperies, valances or cornices. When lifted all the way in the up position they virtually disappear making them great in rooms with a view.

Our Blackout cellular shades are exactly that, blackout. They’re perfect for baby’s room, especially.

Each type of cellular shade offers different options on lifting mechanisms, where the lifters are located and please note that most mechanisms, headrails, tassels, etc are all color coordinated to match the fabric choice.

Motorization can be done on some of our cellular shades. In most cases this is an Infrared control only which has a remote control and it operates your cellular shades from up to 50’ from the receiver eye. You can operate a number of grouped shades together or up to 3 shades individually. You would operate all shades simultaneously with Select All channel. The motors and the batteries are concealed inside all head rails. These are a battery powered motorization. The minimum width for motorization is 18” and the minimum length is 12”. A remote control is ordered for an extra charge. A satellite eye can be ordered too if you have some sort of fabric valance or cornice covering the infrared eye so that the eye can read the signal.

All of our prices are listed on our website for each exact size and please feel free to browse the website, too, for a lot of extra information. Once you place an order for our cellular shades you have usually up to 24 hours to make any changes to the order. Our products are all custom made to your specifications so after that time frame the blinds will be in production.

Our cellular shades are generally backed with a limited lifetime warranty which of course does not cover normal wear and tear, improper installation or abuse. If warranty work or a cellular shade needs to be replaced the shade would have to be sent back to the manufacturer. You would just need to contact us and we will gladly have that taken care of for you.
